A Woman Always Left Out Food For The Foxes. Then One Night She Captured An Unexpected Encounter
Despite her initial opinions on foxes, Lucy Goacher came to love their visits to her garden. They came for the food she left out, and in return they offered some great photo opportunities. Then one day, Goacher watched in surprise as another creature pushed through the foxes towards the food bowl.

I had 15 cats for about 16 years living in the countryside # a fox started coming for food, it got to the point where the foxes brought 3 cubs and showed them where the food was # never did they ever attack the cats. I had an outside security camera for holidays,! Going through the video of when I was away! The cats would sit under the car in safety If a new fox came for food. If a fox comes, Put the food out so it is in sight from a window, but away from the House 30 ft should help keep you aware but not frighten the Fox away and everything should be fine. If an animal is starving feeding it From a distance is the only way it will risk taking the food, once you Bond you will build trust. It hard to please them all! Ha ha Put out clean water ASWELL.

If your going to leave food out do it at the very edges of the wood lines or property far away from your scent as possible, they still know humans left it their but it makes them feel like they are stealing it....................( Yea this sounds stupid but the Fox and the Cat are natural thieves and they love the thrill of a good thieving ) You can make it a challenge by putting a flower pot on top of the meat and making them work for it or even digging a hole and placing the food deep down inside with some hay or grass covering it up but leave a scent trail of blood or juices for them to track it and they will think they are stealing your hidden snack treats...............works every time.

Hey NO way Man!! You got that back ass words, here in America the lower 48 states its not the fox that is the problem, its the coyote's, black bears, and the the Elk on the golf courses! THEY do kill cats and any med to small dogs. And will go after elderly dogs AND the person walking them cause it is usually an elderly person. And it wouldn't be the 1st time either. The Fox stays away for most part until the a BLACK Bear or 2 shows up for the odd or car trash cans.

That's some small weak foxes! Here in my city of Adelaide in Australia we have huge foxes and they are very confident after midnight, I used to work night shift and during my drives home I would see them running along the footpath or casually crossing roads and I saw at least two big foxes with dead cats in their jaws running away from houses. There was one suburb that is right next to a national park and the people there had to ask the council to bait the foxes because they had lost so many cats!

We have two urban foxes in our neighborhood. So far no cats have been bothered. I do feed them and leave water as I know where at least one of them dens. I don't feed them around the houses as we have some idiot neighbors that would either shoot or trap and kill them. One is very playful and like to peek-a-boo around the corner of our garage.

I love wildlife but keep in mind it is called WILD life for reasons. As cute and beautiful as the foxes and other wildlife is I do not agree with feeding wildlife for numerous reasons. I am sure many people will think I am mean because of my stance on this topic but just because things are apparently all cool with the critters so far there are no guarantees as to what may show up at your place due to leaving food out. I hope things stay harmless but sometime when a person habituates wildlife is just asking for trouble. And please don't misunderstand me as I am very aware man has encroached into their space and not the other way around. Have a great time and the pictures are fantastic but when humans mix with wildlife it is always a chance for problems. God bless and take care.

Funny thing is the same yr they both came to my garden my Mother And Father had both just passed away and 3 months later the foxes arrived and for the 3rd yr they are now back in my garden everyday from 10am - 7pm every day they come. My sister couldn't believe it when she called in one day to see me sitting in the garden with the foxes and the fact they never moved or flinched wen id be moseying around the garden they came up to me and sit around me wen I'm sunbathing. I have a whole new respect for the foxes now. I love them they are beautiful and amazing. 🐾 💚🇮🇪

A fox is a beautiful animal, but, you people that feed them need to stop. A wildlife biologist will tell you not to do it. You teach them you're a food source, then they teach their babies, then you get animals that have learned a false food source over generations, ( you won't always be in that spot to give hand outs) You've also taught them to lose their natural fear of humans which is very dangerous for them. Enjoy them for what they are and when they pass through your land, but, do not engage or feed wild life. There are possible fines and jail time in some places for feeding wild life. Because it's dangerous for all concerned.

Put a low cone-shaped piece of plastic, cardboard, etc, in the botton of a new plastic trash can. (That's a "dust-bin" in the UK} Then cut one or more holes at the bottom of the vertical sides, and you now have a VERY LARGE DROP-FEEDER. Holes cut on opposite sides allow for incompatible diners to still get their meal in peace.

What this proves is that we humans should stop killing off their natural habitats and the animals are more prone to live with more peace between each other and less stress, knowing that there is food out there. Humans are such hoarders, we can learn a lot from most animals that only consume what they actually NEED.

This will eventually create an unbalance in the woods. We already see no rabbits around at all, which is a shame.

Guys, a hungry Fox will kill and eat just about anything. Not like a Coyote. Given an opportunity small cats or dogs are done. Foxes are also easily domesticated. It only takes 1 generation or so.
