Looks like a white blonde woman is the face of feminism and female power and empowerment. Hmmm 🤔 i guess. The origin story kinda reminds of hal jordan green lantern both pilots both part of a space force and both have to fight their mentors you know like sinestro and yon-roog.

Having not seen anything put out around this film, no interviews or anything, I quite liked it. Not amazing or anything, but I felt Brie Larson came across as genuinely unhinged, which helped with the entire narrative of her fractured mind and memories. I generally quite liked the unconventional structure. I think the fact that it's a prequel really helps, as at the start you're like "the kree, I vaguely remember them, they were in one of the other films, weren't they?" and then after you finally remember "Oh yeah, they were the bad guys of Guardians, weren't they!" the film then sees fit to start dropping Ronan the accuser on you. So many plot holes in the greater MCU though. So many.

The entire concept of this movie is moderately offensive to me as a consumer. I've been invested in this franchise for over a decade, and they shoehorn an unnecessary character that could have easily been put in after the characters I care about die and/or leave. In addition, the lead is bland, poorly-written, and played by an ignorant bigot. A Black Widow movie would've been better, as she's actually interesting and hasn't gotten much development recently. I wanted to see the characters I've known and loved for over ten years take down Thanos, not this shell of a character.

SLOWEST BORING MCU FILM YET. I THINK FIRST ONE I ACTUALLY DISLIKED, LOVED THE STORY OF THE SCRULS AND THE WAY IT WENT BUT FELT IT WAS EXECUTED A INTO THE MOVIE BADLY AS WAS CAPTAIN MARVELS CHARACTER, SHE DIDNT HAVE ONE. SAMUAL JACKSON AND LEAD SCRULL WERE GREAT SHAME THE MOVIE THEY WERE IN WASNT. ops caps b Strangly i didnt get the femanine stuff people were saying, i didnt feel any of that, i just thought it was a badly writen movie filmed with too many low shots and with some very poor music choices. PS: captain marve flew in space with a helmat on through the entire film which makes me feel she has to wear it to breath but the last part of the movie shows her in space hovering with scrulls with no helmat on, hum a little inconsistant. i know its a nit pick but the film kept pulling me out with this stuff. Best title screen ever though, greta job on the marvel title screen i have to aplaude disney and marvel for that. anyone notice jumpoing jack flash and hook on the vhs shelf. Memories.

I enjoyed the movie myself, even if it was a bit under the usual Marvel standards. I think it was a good film and more than anything I saw it as a piece of a puzzle fitting into Avengers 4 than a stand-alone film so I wasn't expecting it to be this huge film. For what it was, it was good, enjoyable. I have to add though, I agree with Jay in the sense of Captain Marvel not having a defined character. It just felt off to me that she tended to be so "serious" for lack of a better word throughout all of the film. My take on this is, as a character, she didn't seem to change that much or evolve from being brain-washed to realizing who she was and what she could do. If she as a character was a tone (as in sound), it wouldn't have changed at all for the whole length of the film, so, that's the only thing I didn't like, but the rest I was fine with.

In my opinion, Captain Marvel is not the worst MCU Movie. But it feels like a Phase 1 Movie in which they don't realy know how to make a good Origin Movie. It has some good Moments, some nice ideas, but in the end it feels like the movie is not worth the trouble which it gets in last 6-12 months with all the discussion about it. If this is the female superhero everyone wants to have, then is must say there existed a lot of female superheroes in the past which are a lot more a better example then Captain Marvel (Ripley, Sarah Connor etc.). What bothered me the most is, that this movie don't realy shown a way to Endgame even though this movie comes in a few weeks after this movie. I think this disappointed a lot of MCU-Fans. Endgame is the movie everyone wants to see and Captain Marvel has only two scenes with the pager (how Fury gets it and the endcredit-scene) what connected this movie with Endgame. Thats too little for an MCU-Movie which is not realy good.

I feel genuinely sorry for any people that find inspiration in this movie. Maybe it's an unwatched Citizen Kane but I'm just going to gamble with that chance and never, ever see it unless really desperate for something while braincells gasp for O2 on a binge. It looks less empowering than The 100 television show. You know, the one about a horrible future that always feels like a corporate pastiche of "edgy drama." Captain Marvel is Van Helsing for the audience of female neckbeards that doesn't exist. It's hilarious how we're supposed to give Advertising and Entertainment Pandering the same credit we associate with Malcolm X. Your movie isn't a civil rights protest. It's a money grab for children of impressionable adult-children.

I think someone gave the directors for this movie the marvel formula, in which every marvel character has to be a snarky smartass who constantly has to quip. Which makes this interpretation of Carol Danvers ultimately unlikable because that behavior does not fit the situation. Imagine if Neo in the matrix had lost all sense of wonder and found Zion perfectly comfortable and so the inside of the Matrix and was not shocked at all when he started to bend reality. Imagine if he quipped every 4 lines of dialogue and was a snarky smartass. The movie would had been terrible.

I can honestly say if Captain Marvel comes along and is the key to defeating Thanos, or plays a significantly large part in his downfall, I will be pretty disappointed. I don't even care about the controversy around Brie Larson and how people are freaking out about what she said in press tours. I just care that characters we've been watching develop for over 10 years might be sidelined for a character that was introduced 2 months before the culmination of the "original" Avengers story arcs. Everything since Iron Man 1 has been leading up to Endgame - it would be a shame to have a newcomer swoop in and solve all their problems.

Movie studios have PR people involved and they are very careful about what and how they say anything about movies before they are released. It seems movie studios are playing the race/gender card right off the bat to trigger morons on the internet to get the reaction that they do get knowing they will get the other group of counter morons to jump on the bandwagon and intimidate critics to not be overly critical of what are horribly movies. I think you guys would have been a lot more critical than you were about this movie if you weren't put into the position that you were by the movie studio and you really need to call it out and be even more critical of the studios for doing so. Otherwise they are going to load more and more movies with female and people of colour not for diversity reasons but it basically gives them a gold pass to shove any half baked script onto the public and avoid any blowback. It is abhorrent that a movie studio would use a just cause such as diversity as a cheap profiteering strategy. I think sci-fi/fantasy fans are very tolerant, do not care about the race or gender of an actor as long as the movie is well written, well acted, directed, produced, etc. They act like Ripley in the Alien franchise never existed or Sarah Connor from the Terminator franchise, strong women who show real strength, aren't invincible, have real human traits, it is these type of characters people love. Plastic space barbie is just a horrible character, the script is garbage, the only redeemable qualities of this movie were the special effects. I would only recommend this movie to someone I hate.

Its too easy, Disney owns a whole slew of the online shill media. They can just send off a memo for their writers to put out pieces claiming 'misogynists'(or whoever) are attacking their 200 million dollar movie. There doesn't need to be a reaction, obviously people are going to respond but its entirely unnecessary for it to work. Paid media will put the propaganda out and the online journo network will copy paste each other articles adding in cheap shots at groups they hate until the first 2 pages of google results are practically the same editorial. How people react doesn't matter because journalists never tell the truth anyway, they are the scum of the earth.
