It’s chemistry! That simple. They all want to be stars and shooters. None of them want to play a lesser role. TEAMs can’t win that way. Other teams in the NBA think they are overrated and purposely go after them. These young players don’t want to listen.

i hate this narrative that they better with kyrie the analtics show they are best when he is on the floor. And last year they were the number one seed when kyrie was playing with them for 60 games. He only missed a little bit of the end of the season as well as the playoffs which made them drop to the second seed but they wouldnt have even been that high without kyrie. Plus they were slapping the clippers the first half of the game but once kyrie went down with the knee sprain they gave up a 25pt lead. Most people talking dont know shit and are just talking out there ass. They dont watch the games. They see the record and look at how they did in the playoffs (when the east was wayyyy weaker) and assume its kyrie fault even though he actually makes them better. Gordon hayward is the real reason other players have regressed in their role not kyrie

I’d bet Tatum would leave today, if he had a choice in the matter. Even in games they win, but it’s the Kyrie Show of a game, he looks dejected. Compare that to late last year, when he was always happy after a win, and seemed super pumped to even play. It will either be Tatum or Kyrie who leaves this summer. Those 2 guys just don’t mesh together on/off the court that well. You can see it manifesting even more in the multiple guys who have called out their teammates for “selfishness” since Christmas, and the multitudes of “player only” or “player lead” team meetings.

+Doctor Cthulhu Kyrie is 26 and considered the best closer in the game. Hes been averaging 30 and 10 his last 12 games and has easily been the 2nd or even 1st depending on the argument, best pg in the league. He can be your best player. Hes still young. Never is a strong word

Nathan cameron no team will ever win a title with kyrie as their best player.. you say he’s a ‘superstar’ and I’ll admit he’s having the best season of his career. BUT in his best season so far, he’s not even a top 15 player in the league. Once again, you can’t build around him as your centerpiece especially as a dribble/possession heavy player.

    • Doctor Cthulhu

      Doctor Cthulhu

      4 dias atrás

Nathan cameron The *Real* superstar players in this league(LeBron, Curry) make their teammates better, their teams win less without them, and they can pull a trash team wherever they will it. GS is a 60% WinRate team without Curry, and 78% WR with him. In Cleveland with LeBron; Kyrie and Love were *4-23* without him playing. That’s quite a superstar pedigree for Kyrie right? Kyrie is just a star, not a superstar. It’s just his handles and flash that fool guys like you.

    • Doctor Cthulhu

Nathan cameron Lol. Boston will never win a ring with Kyrie as the best player. He’s to damn ball-dominant, without caring to be a playmaker most of the time. He’s second to Harden in dribbles per possession and dribbles per assist. And right near the top in time of possession. That’s on a team where all the best guys need the ball to be effective. But, maybe your right and three other guys are basically trash. It will be funny trying to see Ainge trade that trash for AD, because his picks will all be outside the lottery this year, and that’s not valuable enough for AD. Kyrie will ONLY win another ring if he’s the primary shooter on a team where the best player is a playmaker like Curry or LeBron. He’s just doesn’t have the skill set to be that guy, just like KD, who needed playmaker Curry to lead the team, and just let him have the big shot.

First of all don’t not compare nobody on the Celtics to kyrie he’s a superstar period. The reason the Celtics are not meeting expectations cuz guys like brown rozier Tatum think they as good as kyrie lol the team don’t know their rolls u Celtics fans don’t understand stand u not winning a championship with good ball movement and role players lol just cuz u kyrie after 60 which he got u the 1st seed till he went down then y’all finish second and lost in the ecf y’all think we don’t need kyrje got young player thinking they just as good as kyrie yall smoking penis u need to learn it’s kyries team and u have to build a team around him or just not win championship period.

Dolla Fiend Kyrie is very ball dominate. His need for the ball hurts the other 4 players on the floor. He’s a great player but he doesn’t fit with this team. They play better without him. Rozier could start and they could allow Tatum to be the closer and they would fair better. I think their win over the 76ers proves my point.

They don’t need kyrie if their target is the 8th seed, if they wanna make the finals then they need him, drops 40 on Toronto regularly, drops almost 40 on the sixers regularly, drops 30 on the bucks regularly. They’re 5-2 combined against the bucks, Toronto and sixers with kyrie playing this season.

    • Alex Turner

      Alex Turner

      4 dias atrás

Devin Boon don’t forget the reason they had home court in the playoffs was because kyrie had them in the 1st seed while he was healthy, they lost pretty much all their away games so without homecourt they would have been out the 1st round, the east last year was awful too, Jason Kidd was a terrible coach and they had a terrible offense, the sixers were a one man team with nobody that could step up in the 4th, Toronto were a bunch of baby dinosaurs, this year the east is twice as strong and if as a Celtic fan your aspirations are to win titles and not get swept in the 2nd round then you’re going to need your best player, rozier just isn’t good enough, his decision making is awful and his ball retention under pressure is high school level. Don’t listen to the media they go for hot takes for the views. Kyrie this season is 6th in the nba in plus minus, it measures how much you put outscore your opponents by when you’re on the floor, there’s isn’t another Celtic in the top 20, he’s also the only guard in the league that’s scoring 20+ on 50% shooting so even though he’s taking shots away from the other guys he’s still making them, he’s also averaging 7 assists, more than Steph, dame, kemba etc so he is distributing the ball too. The problem lies with the mentality of the team and brad Stevens not putting his foot down.

That dribble narrative is still being pushed it's like the go to for criticism when it comes to Kyrie along with is defense. When he passes and gets a ton of assists it's just a one off thing. When he passes and it doesn't translate into an assist and get gets a 9 or 10 assist game he is a selfish dribbler. I swear that these guys talk about basketball more than they actually watch.

Boston doesn’t have the lustre it did in the 60-70-80s anymore, so keeping guys based on that heritage is gone. I don’t think 2 will stay, if they don’t get another Blue Chip Star this summer, or have an early exit out of the playoffs(due to player conflicts).

    • Schuyler Savage

      Schuyler Savage

      4 dias atrás

Agreed almost. But there’s no way they lose all 3 because terry is restricted. So they feel like kyrie is going to sign to someone else, then they will match any and every offer terry gets. They love terry, epsixally danny, they just realize he isn’t kyrie level. If kyrie leaves tho, terry is our point guard of the future. Morris, sadly, might be one guy that there’s just no way we keep. With the money we have tied up in smart, Al, and (ughhhhhh) haywire, plus potentially having to sign Jayson and Jaylen in a couple years, Danny is going to have to make the tough decision to let Marcus walk. The only way he could stay is if he takes a gigantic pay cut. Danny would keep him for something like 2 years/10 million. The way Marcus has proven his value on Boston combined with today’s salary cap, he would easily get 15 million per year. Just like smart got. I guess it does all depend on the market tho. I could be possible that 2nd/3rd tier free agents don’t get great offers with so many teams saving cap space to go after one or two of the amazing group 1st tier free agents. Either terry or Marcus could be used in the AD deal as a sign n trade to make the salaries match and also give New Orleans talent. Since Tatum only makes 5 mil a year, the Celtics could sign Marcus for 15 mil and terry for 15 mil and send those 3 to NO for AD. Salaries match and both teams get a really good return from the trade. Boston fans don’t want to admit that Tatum is going to be a must if they want AD, but it’s just a fact and tbh, getting rid of terry and Tatum and bringing in a all NBA veteran would be their best path to a title. Unless kyrie leaves, Tatum needs to go. I’m a celtics fan too i just get what needs to be done and I know that 3 young studs with massive POTENTIAL but who haven’t made all star teams or received their first big contact, combined with a bunch of dope veterans who know their roles just won’t mesh

Youngbloods are reading too much of their hype. Danny Ainges is too busy chasing Anthony Davis instead of taking advantage of a healthy kyrie and chasing a championship. Kyrie deserves more respect. Brad stevenz doesnt know what to do with the logjam at key positions. Should have listened to uncle drew and gotten more veterans. When lebron says he needs vets at least the lakers are smart enough to make small trades.

Kyrie simply won’t be the best player on a champion team. Not unless the second guy is a slightly washed up(so Kyrie can be better) LeBron/Pippin-type who makes guys around them better. It was the same with Durant, he was never winning with ball dominant Westbrook, but it was easy with selfless Curry leading the team.
