He moved to England very young and was educated there. Yes, it is mentioned in an episode of Star Trek. I think it was this one - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_(Star_Trek:_The_Next_Generation)

And TNG was the most SJW of them. It's even remembered for being a bit preachy. And PIcard was a full on SJW. That's why we liked him. It's so bizarre what has happened in the intervening time.

+Khy Maaren TLJ got so many "fans" in to a froth because 'their' story didn't go the way they wanted and 'their' character(s) did something those "fans" didn't want. (I mean personally I thought that having an important character go through traumatic events, become disillusioned, be shown a better future path, help save his friends and then ascend to a higher plane of Force-ness......was a pretty good story arc. But I understand that no one is allowed to like the film.)
Khy Maaren

+T Electronix They are in the minority. A very vocal and angry one, but a minority nonetheless. It's never a good idea to go into a movie theatre with hardwired expectations about the contents of the film you are about to see. You are more than likely setting yourself up for disappointment that way. This is what happened with TLJ and Star Trek Discovery, as well.
T Electronix

Yeah, and the seemingly endless horror of "fans" hating a film to the extent that years later they cannot let it go. Hopefully Stewart will be saved from all that.

Hope they wont make him a bitter man who has abandoned his TNG philosophical ideals. For one thing that would be a predictable thing to do, but also that would go against the character of Picard, and finally we don’t need anymore bitter dark characters on TV.

So help me god, if Picard is the least bit jaded, bitter, or cynical in this new show, I will turn the moon into a laser gun and shoot CBS corporate with it. The world does not need a debased or philosophically compromised Picard.

Whilst a Last Jedi kind of deal is very likely to not happen because Stewart has creative control unlike Hamill, it HAS been nearly 20 years which tends to add at least some level of cynicism. As long as he remains a softie at heart and doesn't try to kill kids in their sleep, I think we can have a few grumpy "kids nowadays" lines.

+T Electronix Definition of most: 1 : greatest in quantity, extent, or degree the most ability Thus, a definition of most is 'the greatest quantity' which is a majority, therefore best stick with 'majority' and stop all this bandying around with semantics. Leave won a binary vote to leave the EU, 17,410,742 (51.9%) are the majority. Any mucking around with petty words will get you no where so why don't you accept it and get on with your life.

TNG ended way back in 1994, 25 years ago. Nemesis (the last film) was released 17 years ago. So where is he getting this “exactly 19 years” from?
ZipplyZane
3 dias atrás
I think he must have the number wrong, is all. It would 17 years from the debut of Nemesis if the show starts in December 2019. If they start filming in March or April, it would have been 17 years since he last wore his uniform, as filming for Nemesis ended in March 2002.

+suzawilo Geezus Buddha. Relax. I was just trying to make the point that people on the internet lack nuances. People have a tendency to have very extreme opinions on the internet. And what the hell is even a millennium anymore? You can be a millennium and be born in 82. I am 30. Star Trek has always been a "SJW" show, and I like it for that. You are clearly missing my point about nuances.
suzawilo
7 dias atrás
+Haagen Neldeberg Modern SJW's....? Hahhahahah😂 You must be a sad little millennial boy. Feminists haven't been called SJW's before. It's only the internet era that does that. So maybe get off your gaming chair and go out into the world (may I suggest a thing called library, you know where books live) to educate yourself ☝️
Haagen Neldeberg
7 dias atrás
Yes, honestly modern SJWs can be a frustrating lot, because the most vocal of them are very extreme and often irrational. But you can easily say the same thing about the people that tries to be as a anti SJWs as possible. It's like people have forgotten about nuances.
