There are plenty of good things about the Prequels I'll defend to my dying breath. 1 - Ewan McGregor 2 - Master Windu 3 - The beautiful landscapes and worlds you explore, especially the cloning facility world locked in perpetual rain. 4 - The Podrace 5 - Darth Maul 6 - Qi-Gon when NOT talking about metachlorians 7 - The GOOD CGI and special effects that seem to fit right in (though there's PLENTY that doesnt...) 8 - "Peeeeeeaaaceeee!!!!" 9 - Django Fett 10 - Count Dooku I can't find an 11th. I'll watch the video now and see if one of the stuff he likes is something I may have overlooked. Post-Watching 11 - Yeah. Those kickass sword fights.

I found that order 66 explained well why the Jedi were practically extinct during the original series and the dramatic music that was played as the Jedi are slaughtered expressed well the emotions of the fall of the Jedi.

Well, that went bad pretty fast. Cool sword fights? More like stupid sword fights. They went too far. Any person with a bit of common sense would... I want to say kill, but in truth, it's assist this "force sensitive fighters" in commiting suicide. You just have to point the sword at them and they'd gleefully cut themselves while spinning and placing their swords in every place except the one they should. I mean, I agree the fight in "a new hope" is boring. But the fight in "The Return of the Jedi"? That was pretty much perfect. The swords always pointing their rival, their guard up, never showing their back to someone who is, at least, their equal in a fight. This movies? They spend almost more time with their backs up to their enemies than with their swords. Qui Gon should have died at Darth Maul's hands much earlier, but even before that, he had SEVERAL chances of killing DM to begin with. And the worst of all is, we know that Holywood can reach a compromise between realism and spectacle. But this movies? No, they don't reach it. Your parody between Obi Wan and Darth Vader? In my mind goes like this: DV: Obi Wan, remember when we fought, years ago, in the lava, doing backflips and all that? OW: Yep? DV: We were such scrubs, making sure each could kill the other one in a moment by offering our backs, and then NOT taking those shots. OW: Preach! To be fair, not every fight is completely stupid. Yoda's fights are actually good, with the characters moving fast (and small) enough that it is believable to do some of those maneuvers. But most of them? Yeah, it looked like they were trying to make sure that the other was able to kill them.

funfact the actors practiced with METAL RODS that they CGI'ed over to make the lightsabers so when you see them dodge or block they are actually trying not to get hit by the rods. it is really cool And in the comics Yoda was so strong within the first minute of facing Dukoo, Dukoo was scared and was tired from yoda's powerful strikes and even put Yoda on a list that he and general grievous hope never to meet in battle. Yoda needs the Kane because he can do the flips and stunts and be a powerful jedi. for a short amount of time he uses the force to help his old body move around like that meaning he is using all his strength when he fights this fighting style is known as Ataru which is one Yoda Perfected.

You should watch Star Wars The Clone Wars, its a TV show on netflix that focuses on the actual war between episode 2 and episode 3. Sidenote, the episodes arent in chronological order so the storyline might be confusing sometimes (you can google the episodes in chronological order if you want), its much better than the prequel films.

#1 The political message of the prequels. Watch all three films from Palpatine's viewpoint. You see the point of the series, how a democracy willingly devolves into an iron fisted empire. Even with all of the chaos of the current political climate in America, people are making the very mistakes that leads to the creation of the Empire. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. The prequels is the most relevant series for our time!

Honestly, there were only really four things wrong with the Star Wars prequels: the acting of both of Anakin's actors, Jar Jar, the cringeworthy romantic dialogue between Anakin and Padme, and the Trade Federation being pretty lame villains. And I think more and more people are realizing that while they're really not up there with the original trilogy (albeit Revenge of the Sith comes close), they in no way deserved the hate they got when they were first released.

Just for the sake of it: 3. Attack of the Clones 2. The Phantom Menace 1. Revenge of the Sith Here's why: -Attack of the Clones: The main reason I put it at the lowest is because I just found it to be boring. And, don't get me wrong, I do like some stuff, such as Jango Fett and Count Dooku, but, in terms of storylines, it's just the least exciting to me. -The Phantom Menace: As silly as some things were in it, it actually managed to be fun to watch, although that's mostly thanks to Darth Maul. The way Qui Gon Jin and Obi Wan were handled were actually pretty interesting thanks to Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor. Plus, we get the origin thing with R2D2 and C3PO. -Revenge of the Sith: I won't say the romance is great, but the drama around it works. The whole "Jedis can't be in love" thing is a good amount of drama needed for a romance like this. Plus, like the video said, Anakin just staring with no dialogue is pretty good and sets out as a good showing for how evil he is. And, to top it off, we finally get the wrap-up to the story where it sets off to where we would get in A New Hope.

the OT had all long come out by the time I was watching Star Wars and so when the new movies came out I was still young enough that I didn't really understand movie criticism or anything like that, so the spot in my heart for the Prequels is extremely soft, and any fanfic that revisits Anakin's fall makes me cry a lot lol. Episode I is my favorite. Liam Neeson as Qui-gon was the first role I had seen him in and he stood out to me, as did Ewan McGregor as Obi-wan. The duel of the fates was easily the best part in the prequels, and the memes were tasty. Seeing Jedi actually do stuff was really cool too, gives a better impression of their capabilities and importance within galactic politics. This was also my first star wars movie so special place in my heart for that. I'm really glad episode 8 exists for this reason because now I can say this without people telling me I love the worst star wars movie :^)

4:48- yoda uses a cane for various reasons. For one, it’s a great way to make your enemies underestimate you. Also, his cane is made from a special wood from dagobah that is able to “attract” for lack of a better term, the force swirling in the air around it and give it to the user. Yoda draws energy from his cane to be able to fight like that, but doesn’t constantly draw from it because he respects the force

I just realized how much of the goofyness of some scenes were saved at the german dub version. Most of the dialogue is translated 1:1, but the natural more serious tone of the german language actually helps to keep the atmosphere of a lot scenes, especially for Anakin. Even the "dew it" from Palpatine sounds serious and menacing in the german version.
